The Clay County Board of Education Office will be closed on the following dates:
⛰️💙💛Friday, June 19, 2026 in observance of West Virginia Day
❤️🤍💙 Friday, July 3, 2026 in observance of Independence Day
Regular office hours will resume on the next scheduled business day following each holiday.

Career readiness is our job at Clay County High School!
During the 2025-26 school year:
- 396 / 480 were part of a CTE program
- 67 students completed a career pathway, the highest number in recent years
- 9 students earned work-ready industry credentials, including 4 state certified welders, 3 journeymen electricians, 1 certified pastry chef, and 1 nationally registered EMT


📣 Clay County Schools – Apptegy Rooms Access
This afternoon at 4:00 PM, invitations to join Apptegy Rooms will be sent to parents and guardians using the cell phone number or email address we have on file.
If you did not receive your invitation link, you have two options:
Contact your child’s school to verify your contact information and request a new invite, or
Submit an access request form by visiting www.claycountyschools.org
and selecting “Forms” from the menu bar.
We are incredibly thankful for the West Virginia State Road Office in Clay County and our Clay County Schools employees who have worked tirelessly this winter to keep students safe and learning on track.

The following dates, which were originally scheduled as full-day Faculty Senate days (no school for students), have been updated:

April 2 (4/2)
These days will now be 3-hour early dismissal days, and students WILL attend school
